Prior to joining the Seven Springs team in 2021, Chris was a rural mail carrier in Floyd and Riner. He and his family could not be happier living in Floyd. Adam is working with Ron to manage the fields, woods and landscapes at Seven Springs. When not at work, she raises pigs, grows vegetables, ferments and preserves food, and tries to fit in other hobbies of hiking, pottery, and learning woodturning.Īdam Strasbaugh – Farm Manager & GroundskeeperĪdam moved to Floyd in 2020 from Boone, NC where he was a sustainable farming instructor for Appalachian State University and owner of a market garden. She is interested in soil health and nutrition. She has worked on vegetable and livestock farms, has a degree in Agronomy and Soil Science, and conducted research in soil microbial ecology. When she’s not in the Seven Springs office keeping track of orders and invoices, she can be found on her homestead at the base of Buffalo Mountain, spending time with her family. Since 2018 she has lent her administrative and bookkeeping skills to Seven Springs Farm, collaborating with the rest of the staff to grow and expand the business. When she's not working or navigating mud season in Vermont, Alena can be found listening to podcasts and hanging out with her cats.Ĭassie Pierce, along with Scott (who happens to be Seven Springs Purchasing Manager) and their two kids, moved to Floyd County in 2011. ![]() Having run her own cut flower farm, Alena enjoys engaging with and supporting her fellow organic farmers through her work at Seven Springs. Alena brings her superior organizational and artistic skills to her work here at Seven Springs, both in the warehouse and in our marketing efforts. Tim also has a history of raising and judging dairy goats.Īlena Ivakhnenko - Marketing & Mail OrderĪfter many travels and work in forests and farms around the country, Alena settled in Floyd in 2019. He recently returned home, to Floyd, to start his own pastured poultry operation. After graduating from Virginia Tech, Tim gained experience in greenhouses and livestock-based regenerative agriculture on commercial farms here in Virginia. ![]() Tim joined the Seven Springs team in 2019. Tim Bell - Operations & Livestock Specialist He joined the Seven Springs team in 2021 and we are very happy to have him aboard. Today, Jeff is the happiest he has ever been and enjoys spending time with his amazing wife (and best friend) and two beautiful daughters. ![]() He and his family left the hustle and bustle of the city and moved to Floyd for a more tranquil life. After service in the US Navy, he worked in the fields of environmental science, biology, environmental restoration, carpentry and timber framing. He lives at the foot of Buffalo Mountain in Willis, VA with his wife Cassie (who happens to be Seven Springs Bookkeeper) and his two kids, in a round house they built together using only books and youtube videos. Scott is returning to his roots in purchasing after 13 years of running Sherwin Williams stores in North Carolina. Together they raise livestock, veggies, herbs and flowers and Daniel keeps a good crop of sunflowers growing under his bird feeders. In 2017, Daniel, his wife and their children returned to the family homestead in Floyd. Daniel joined the Seven Springs team in 2018 after 15 years in vineyards, nurseries, orchards and farms around the country.
